Buddhism is a philosophical and religious tradition that originated in India sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE. It is based on teachings attributed to a man called Guatama Buddah, born Siddhārtha Gautama. Buddha is a title that means "Awakened One" or "Enlightened One”.
