To be clear, I'm not "anti pharmaceutical assistance". If you're a grown ass man who's made that informed decision for yourself, cool. What I am against is the idea that it's something you automatically need just because you've hit a certain age, or that every guy in shape over 40 must be on something. The reality is that there's little to no difference in muscle building and fat loss capability into your late 30s and 40s. Testosterone only declines gradually after 30, and even by 40 the drop is much smaller than most people assume. And that's just one factor of many that influence muscle growth. Metabolic rate remains stable all the way up to around 60, so blaming a "slow metabolism" for not being able to get lean is mostly nonsense. The reason guys get out of shape with age is from changes in their habits and lifestyle, not their biology. Sitting more, sleeping less, higher stress, looser diet and more skipped gym sessions. And those things are all fixable without a needle.
