I wouldn’t call this autism, I’d say it’s just good programming. Or maybe it's both, but either way, autism-maxxing by keeping your exercises in the same order each time actually is the ideal approach if you want to make the best progress. That's because it lets you accurately track progressive overload from session to session whereas when you're constantly shuffling things around, it’ll be harder to measure since your performance on any given set is affected by where it falls in the workout assuming you're actually training hard. And this is especially true if you’re changing the exercises themselves. If you do a machine press and cable fly one week, then a dumbbell press and pec deck the next, then a smith machine press and a dumbbell fly after that, you have nothing concrete to measure against.
