There’s nothing wrong with novel exercise variations or form tweaks beyond the basics. But in most cases the actual difference these things will make to your gains is minor at best. I’m sorry, but the reason you have small shoulders is NOT because you’ve been doing regular dumbbell lateral raises instead of the latest behind-the-back-lengthened-biased-leaning-cuffed-cable version. In the same way that you can only do so much volume before the benefits max out, or apply so much frequency, or intensity... exercise selection is no different. Once an exercise is “good enough” in terms of its movement pattern, stability, loadability and joint-friendliness, modifying it further will give sharp diminishing returns, and eventually no returns at all. But most creators won’t tell you that because they need to pretend these things are massive game changers to make it seem like what you’re doing is “wrong” and that they have the unique solution. #fitness #gym #workout #buildmuscle #bodybuild
