You never want to roll the bar back toward your neck like this. If your bench doesn't have safety catches and you get stuck under the bar, don't try to re-rack it, use your body momentum to push the bar down. At the very least, if someone isn't actively spotting you and you're trying to max out, don't lock the clips onto the bar because then you can just dump them off to one side. These plates would have just fallen onto the floor if the clips weren't there and he wouldn't have ended up in this situation. People literally die in gyms every year or at home from bench press accidents like this. Obviously that's a very rare thing but it does happen. So always make sure you have the proper setup in place first if you're going heavy. #bodybuilding #fitness #gym #workout
