What actually happens if you take 30 grams of creatine in one day? Well, researchers tested it in this study here, and the results were pretty impressive. They gave participants a single large dose of creatine and compared their performance to a placebo. After taking the creatine, they had faster reaction times, better short term memory, and improved performance on math and language tasks. The benefits peaked about 4 hours after taking it and were still detectable up to 9 hours later. Creatine's main job is to help regenerate ATP, which is the primary energy source used by your cells. But that doesn't just apply to your muscles. Your brain runs on it too.
