You can keep repeating "feet down, feet down" but if he doesn't have the ankle mobility in that position to get his heels flat, he can't just magically force it. All he needs to do is move his feet up a bit on the platform and his heels will naturally come down. That said, using a very low foot position and having your heels rise up a bit isn't automatically bad either, it's just a different variation that allows for more knee flexion at the bottom so you're training the quads at a longer length and with less glute involvement. For your main heavy squat pattern I'd still recommend keeping your heels mostly or entirely flat since that's probably ideal for maximizing overall force production, but if you want to mix in a lighter variation like this or something like a sissy squat that's fine also. #fitness #gym #workout #buildmuscle #bodybuilding
